This machine is an explosion-proof centrifugal finishing machine specifically designed for workshops with flammable and explosive gases/dust in chemical, petroleum, military and other industries. The entire unit complies with the Ex d II B T4 Gb explosion-proof standard, with all electrical components and transmission parts undergoing explosion-proof treatment, enabling safe use in Zone 1 and Zone 2 explosion-proof environments. Equipped with a 22KW explosion-proof motor, it offers a speed adjustment range of 0-100R·P·M, delivering powerful performance and high grinding efficiency. It adopts four sets of sixteen pentagonal polyurethane drums: the drum body is made of steel plate, the inner drum is made of wear-resistant polyurethane, and the drum transmission uses an explosion-proof MC nylon gear set, ensuring spark-free operation that meets explosion-proof requirements. The fully enclosed drum set with explosion-proof sealing design prevents grinding fluid leakage and splashing, avoiding contact between grinding fluid and flammable/explosive gases. All metal parts of the equipment are treated with anti-static grounding to eliminate static generation and accumulation, preventing spark ignition. Additionally, an explosion-proof heat dissipation system is equipped to ensure the equipment operates without overheating during long-term use in explosion-proof environments. Structure & Working Principle

 

(1) Overall Structure

Adopting an explosion-proof fully enclosed design, the machine consists of an explosion-proof steel plate upper cover, explosion-proof welded base, explosion-proof drum turntable assembly, explosion-proof electrical cabinet and explosion-proof receiving trough. All components are designed and processed in accordance with explosion-proof standards, with no spark sources, making it suitable for explosion-proof workshops.

  • Upper Cover: Fabricated by welding explosion-proof steel plates with explosion-proof and anti-rust surface treatment. The front protective sliding door adopts an explosion-proof hinge design with a built-in explosion-proof travel switch, cutting off power immediately when opened. Anti-static sealing treatment is applied between the sliding door and the upper cover. The ventilation louvers at both ends are explosion-proof and dust-proof, equipped with built-in explosion-proof filters to prevent flammable and explosive dust from entering the equipment.
  • Base: Welded with explosion-proof channel steel, equipped with explosion-proof shockproof foot pads at the bottom and overall anti-static grounding treatment. The motor fixing plate features an explosion-proof screw adjustment structure, enabling spark-free adjustment of belt tightness. An explosion-proof liquid collection tank with an explosion-proof drain port is installed inside the base, ensuring safer collection and discharge of grinding fluid.
  • Drum Turntable Assembly: The large turntable is made of explosion-proof steel plate with anti-static treatment. The 650L explosion-proof drum is equipped with an explosion-proof locking buckle cover and an explosion-proof rubber sealing ring, achieving excellent sealing performance. The drum turning mechanism adopts an explosion-proof worm reducer + explosion-proof chain transmission, ensuring spark-free operation. The inner drum is made of wear-resistant polyurethane with a snap-on installation design for easy replacement.
  • Explosion-Proof Electrical Cabinet: Complies with the Ex d II B T4 Gb explosion-proof standard, integrating explosion-proof frequency converters, explosion-proof contactors, explosion-proof relays and other explosion-proof electrical components. The cabinet is equipped with positive pressure ventilation to prevent flammable and explosive gases from entering by continuously supplying clean air to maintain positive pressure inside. The panel is an explosion-proof flameproof operation panel, with all buttons and switches being explosion-proof.

 

(2) Working Principle

Adopting the "explosion-proof transmission revolution + reverse rotation" grinding principle, the 11KW explosion-proof motor drives the large explosion-proof steel plate turntable to revolve through an explosion-proof pulley. Via transmission by the explosion-proof MC nylon gear set, four sets of drums are driven to rotate in reverse, generating strong double centrifugal force. Under the action of centrifugal force, the workpieces and abrasives in the drums produce intense friction, completing finishing processes such as chamfering, deburring and polishing. The entire transmission process is spark-free and static-free, with all metal parts undergoing anti-static grounding to ensure safe operation in explosion-proof environments.

 

Features of Electrical System

 

The entire electrical system complies with the Ex d II B T4 Gb explosion-proof standard, with all electrical components being explosion-proof. The electrical cabinet is equipped with positive pressure explosion-proof ventilation, continuously supplying clean air to maintain positive pressure inside and prevent the entry of flammable and explosive gases. Equipped with an explosion-proof frequency converter, it supports 0-100R·P·M speed adjustment with an accuracy of ±1R·P·M. The explosion-proof flameproof operation panel is equipped with an explosion-proof inching switch, explosion-proof speed knob and explosion-proof emergency stop button for safe operation. An explosion-proof safety interlock system is installed, forming multiple interlocks between the explosion-proof protective sliding door, explosion-proof electrical cabinet, main machine and turning mechanism. The main machine cannot start and the turning mechanism cannot operate if the sliding door is open or the electrical cabinet is not tightly closed. Additionally, explosion-proof motor overload protection and overheating protection are added, automatically shutting down the equipment in case of abnormalities without generating sparks during shutdown.

 

Installation & Adjustment

 

(1) Installation Requirements
1.The equipment must be installed by professional explosion-proof equipment installers. Place it on a horizontal concrete floor in the explosion-proof workshop, pad explosion-proof shockproof foot pads at the bottom, and ensure reliable anti-static grounding of the entire equipment with a grounding resistance ≤4Ω.
2.Use a 500V megohmmeter to test the insulation resistance of the explosion-proof motor windings, which should not be less than 0.5 megohms. The explosion-proof surfaces of explosion-proof electrical components must be free of scratches and collisions.
3.Connect to the explosion-proof dedicated 380V three-phase industrial power supply, which must be transferred through an explosion-proof distribution box. Connect the explosion-proof ground wire properly, and perform explosion-proof sealing treatment on all wiring parts.
4.After installation, the equipment must be inspected and qualified by professional explosion-proof inspectors. Conduct a 5-minute no-load test run to check if all parts operate normally without abnormal noise or sparks before putting it into use.


(2) Post-Installation Adjustment
1.All adjustment operations must be performed by professional explosion-proof maintenance personnel after power and air supply are cut off. When checking the tightness of the motor belt, use explosion-proof tools to adjust the explosion-proof screw adjustment structure to avoid spark generation.
2.When checking the tightness of the explosion-proof chain for drum turning, use explosion-proof tools to move the explosion-proof reducer bracket. The appropriate chain tightness is "2-3cm slack when pressed".
3.If the drum leaks, use explosion-proof tools to adjust the explosion-proof positioning screws on both sides of the drum to compress the explosion-proof sealing ring. Replace the explosion-proof sealing ring if necessary.

 

Operation & Maintenance

 

(1) Operation Steps
1.Operated by personnel trained in explosion-proof equipment. Connect the explosion-proof power supply and confirm that the positive pressure ventilation system of the explosion-proof electrical cabinet is working normally.
2.Use the explosion-proof inching switch to adjust the drum to a position where the front upper mouth is tilted 15° forward, and open the explosion-proof locking cover with an explosion-proof wrench.
3.Degrease and derust the workpieces in advance. Put the workpieces and abrasives into the drum at a ratio of 1:2, with the loading capacity being about 70% of the drum volume. Add special abrasives for explosion-proof workshops and water, with the water level covering the workpieces and abrasives. Fasten the drum cover and lock the explosion-proof buckle.
4.Adjust to the target speed using the explosion-proof speed knob and start the equipment. Continuous grinding should not exceed 90 minutes to avoid overheating.
5.After grinding, stop the equipment, use the explosion-proof inching switch to turn the drum to the unloading position, pour the workpieces and abrasives into the explosion-proof receiving trough, and discharge the grinding fluid into the explosion-proof liquid collection tank.


(2) Daily Maintenance
1.All maintenance operations must be performed by professional explosion-proof maintenance personnel after power and air supply are cut off. After the equipment operates for 500 hours, add explosion-proof calcium-based bearing grease to all bearings using explosion-proof tools to avoid spark generation.
2.After daily operation, clean the interior of the drum, explosion-proof receiving trough and explosion-proof liquid collection tank with explosion-proof tools, and wipe the inner drum dry to prevent corrosion from residual grinding fluid. Regularly inspect the explosion-proof locking buckles and explosion-proof sealing rings, and replace explosion-proof accessories in case of wear or damage.
3.Have professional personnel inspect the positive pressure ventilation system and explosion-proof electrical components of the explosion-proof electrical cabinet weekly, clean dust inside the cabinet, and check the integrity of the explosion-proof sealing treatment of the terminal blocks.
4.Conduct an explosion-proof inspection of explosion-proof components such as the explosion-proof motor, explosion-proof frequency converter and explosion-proof travel switch monthly to ensure reliable explosion-proof performance.
5.In case of any abnormalities during operation, immediately press the explosion-proof emergency stop button to shut down the equipment. Have it inspected by professional explosion-proof maintenance personnel; non-professionals are prohibited from disassembling or repairing the equipment.
